782. Scripture is speaking to me.

781. I have a taste of what God can do with my life, and I really REALLY like it.

780. I am getting excited about reading God's word again.

779. I got to hear Jim Wallis speak on Tuesday night at OSU. It was great.

778. I got to go to Jim Wallis with Helen.

777. Helen.

776. The other night I was helping Jonathan fall asleep. I pulled a trick out of my bag that I hadn't tried on him yet. I lightly ran my finger over his eyebrows and down his nose. Worked like a charm.

775. Remembering when my dad did that trick with me. I loved that.

774. And I loved when he would "tickle" my back to help me fall asleep too.

773. Getting someone last minute to watch the kids so I could go to a visitation this evening. (Paul was at a track meet.)

772. Bethany lost one of her snugglers a while back. I want to replace it and I found the exact material to match the old one.

771. Blue skies.

770. Warm weather.

769. Open windows.

768. Paul is staying home tomorrow.

767. Mrs. Q from down the street called up twice this week to ask if she could take the kids for a walk. Very sweet.

766. Now that she is almost over a pretty yucky cold, Bethany has been eating a lot better lately.

765. The AMVETS pickup.

764. Giggling with the kids tonight.

763. Schlotzky's.

762. Twice this week when I was under the teaching of two different people, this passage was quoted from Isaiah 58
6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
"If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.

11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

13 "If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the LORD's holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,

14 then you will find your joy in the LORD,
and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob."
The mouth of the LORD has spoken.

That's good stuff.

761. Ezekiel 18:31 - Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel?

760. My sink is still clean.

759. I walked with Bethany around the block last night right before her bedtime. She eventually snuggled into my shoulder and fell asleep.

758. This morning she woke up kinda early and she went back to sleep snuggled close to me in my bed.

757. The kids played outside today.

756. The laundry hanger mounted on the wall over my dryer.

755. The breakfast cereal that I really like, but rarely buy because it is so expensive, was on sale this week.

754. A Curious George themed gift for Jonathan's birthday (belatedly) from my sister.

753. Two cute summer outfits for Bethany from my sister. Same scenario.

752. I was watching Bethany and Jonathan play with each other a few nights ago. They kept making each other laugh. I don't think they were doing anything other than making really demonstrative movements in front of each other.

751. Lainee needs to give Bethany a hug and a kiss every night before bed.

750. Clearning out the flower beds today.

749. Lainee cheerfully helping with the flower beds.

748. Lainee sweeping the back porch.

747. Being inspired by the life of a person I met only once and never got to know before she passed away.

746. A very kind e-mail.

745. Kind words from lots of people on my last post on my other blog.

744. Being an encouragement to someone.

743. God takes junk and makes it beautiful.
